Context

Thumbnail Grabber is a web utility for people who need the original image from a YouTube video for visual research, comparison, or documentation.

Design challenge

The existing task often required external tools, manual URL edits, or screenshots. The product had to make one action immediately understandable while still giving people control over image quality.

What I designed

  • A direct input-to-result flow: paste a YouTube URL, generate the thumbnail, choose a resolution, and download.
  • Empty and result states that reveal the next relevant action without unnecessary controls.
  • A responsive interface that keeps the generated image and available resolutions central to the task.

Outcome

The finished product launched as a single-page utility with multiple available resolutions, responsive layouts, and no login or setup requirement.
